The NetShift Runtime platform is the key to the deployment of secure, robust systems. It allows interfaces constructed using NetShift Builder to be run in an environment suitable for public access and incorporates several sub-systems that contribute to this environment.

Other optimisations contribute to the Runtime's ability to maximise availability, robustness and security.

NetShift Runtime version 7 incorporates support for several utility technologies:

All NetShift version 7 runtimes are now fully capable and licensed to interoperate in networks managed by NetShift Enterprise, but with the option to run them as standalone applications.

• NetShift Communications Module
  NetShift 7 allows optimised communication for GPRS and 3G and connection routing. Connection routing allows the device to intelligently choose different connection methods dependent on need, for instance, broadband for media downloads and a dedicated link to legacy transaction systems. The new version also includes a Smart Download Manager. This allows rich media files to be segmented and seamlessly reassembled allowing better control over downloading. Additionally, it is possible to specify when these transfers take place, allowing downloads to occur over pre-defined periods of time.
  
• NetShift User Recognition and Personalisation Module
  Through mobile phones, RFID tags and swipe cards the interface of the device can be made relevant to the user by delivering targeted banner ads and content. Personalised information, including loading of cookies, allows the user to have their own desktop wherever they go. This feature improves the kiosk experience and makes the content more applicable to the user. And of course privacy is not forgotten either. NetShift securely cleans up after the end of the session keeping private information private! And within the device increased levels of encryption ensure greater security.
